Dear Member,

I am very honoured to accept the role of Chairman of the Ireland China Business Association. It is with regret that Kevin Lynch has had to vacate the chair but delighted that he remains an active member of the Council.

With the AGM due in November of this year there was very little time to take stock but I realised that the Vice Chair’s role was even more important given the short timeframe. I am very lucky that Susan Barrett has agreed to step into the role as Vice Chair and she has already dedicated herself to the task with energy and enthusiasm.

The recent networking event sponsored by PWC was a great success and many positive suggestions were contributed by the membership which we are already acting upon. The most recent change the council agreed at its last meeting was the change of name of the association to: The Ireland China Business Association.

Some events in the pipeline are: Annual BBQ on the 24th of August at the Curragh Racecourse, a Networking Event mid-September (details to follow), a Business to Business Trade Mission led by the ICBA from 12th-18th October next, as well as our AGM and dinner on either the 12th or 13th of November (depending on the availability of our high level keynote speaker!)

I would like to thank the members of the Council for their hard and efficient work and also to our secretariat in the person of Jen Condon.

I shall look forward to meeting all of our members over the coming months and would be delighted to hear your suggestions and ideas to further develop the aims and goals of the Ireland China Business Association.

Yours sincerely,

Ken Duggan

Chairman
