Please see below message from the Irish embassy.
We encourage all Irish citizens resident in China to register with the Embassy. This enables us to contact you in case of emergency, and to invite you to events happening in the Embassy. To register, please send an email to Beijing@dfa.ie with your name, address and phone number, the name address and phone number of your next of kin, and a scan of your passport. Separately, the Department of Foreign Affairs in Ireland operates an emergency-only registration system (available here: https://www.dfa.ie/travel/citizens-registration/). If you register at that address, your contact details will only be used in an emergency, and not for event invitations.
