Brendan Gainey 

Brendan Gainey graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from UCD in 1978. He qualified as a chartered accountant in 1983, and has since accumulated over 25 years of business experience in a wide range of companies, including CRH, PwC (then Craig Gardner), O’Connor Leddy Holmes (Certified Accountants) and DDFH&B Advertising.    

In 2001, he took a career break and returned to Trinity College to complete a two years Master in Education (Career Guidance & Counselling). He is also a qualified TEFL teacher, with experience teaching English in China and as Director of Studies in a major English Language School in Dublin. 

Over the past four years, he has been Head of International Business Development for two major private colleges in Dublin, during which time he travelled extensively throughout Asia, particularly China and India.  

He currently works as a private consultant in the Education Sector.
