Dear Member,

The Ireland China Association is delighted to host the Shenzhen Science, Industry and Trade, Information Technology Commission to Ireland.

This is the city where Deng Xiaoping, who led China’s economic reform in the 90’s, started China’s open door policy. He is known to have said “To get Rich is glorious”.

Today Shenzhen is a city of 9 million people and home to China’s most successful high tech companies. In the late 70’s, it was a fishing village with a few hundred thousand people.

Today some of Ireland’s most successful companies in China; PCH International and Advanced Innovations (one being a previous winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the year Award and the latter being listed in this year’s).
